Ads in Photo Galleries

Some of you have contacted me regarding the ads in my photo galleries.  Let me tell you what’s going on so that everyone’s on the same page.

As you know, my photo galleries are hosted on Flickr.com.  this allows me the flexibility to update a single location with my pictures, without worrying about reloading my galleries should I leave my site provider.  You also know that I recently changed the organization that hosted my site.  I was able to keep my photo galleries intact because they were hosted by a third-party.

Flickr.com places ads in photo galleries in order to make money.  I don’t make anything from the ads.

I know some of you don’t believe that, but the ads are placed in my galleries by Flickr.com.  Here’s the Flickr.com link that you can read for yourself, if you’re so inclined.  Pay particular attention to the line of the left-hand column that reads Ad free browsing and sharing.  In the version of Flickr that I’m using, browsing and sharing aren’t ad-free.

As a tip, if you look at my Photostream pictures or the specific Albums that interest you, the ads might not be as intrusive.

I hope this clears up the issue.  If you still have questions, or would like to share your comments, opinions, or thoughts with me, please contact me.

As always, thanks for your continued support!
